Help a South African School Competition 2019 Ts&Cs

  1. The competition is open to all school children in the UK in years 1-6 only
  2. Closing date for script entry is Friday 17th May 2019
  3. Only original scripts will be accepted
  4. The assembly must be a minimum of 20 minutes
  5. Entries received without an entry form attached to the back will be classed as invalid
  6. First prize is a cheque for £2,000 AND the winning school will be asked to perform their assembly in front of the South African embassy in the UK and BBC presenter Stefan Gates; second prize is a cheque for £500; third prize is a cheque for £500. All cheques will be made payable to the school
  7. We will arrange the prize giving ceremony to take place in your school before the end of the 2019 summer term
  8. Certificates will be sent to all schools from which we have received a valid entry at the end of the competition
  9. The prizes will be awarded to the entries that have, in the judges’ opinion, submitted the most relevant and original scripts and who have therefore received the highest score
  10. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
  11. The final judging will take place no later than the 2nd week in June 2019 by a panel including at least one independent member.   12. The winning schools will be notified no later than Friday 28th June 2019
  13. The winning schools must agree to take part in advertising and any relevant public relations exercise undertaken by the promoter: Hortgro, 258 Main Road, PO Box 163, Paarl, 7622, South Africa. Do not send entries to this address.
