The judging

The judging was held in 2 parts this year…

3rd June – at the South African High Commission, Trafalgar Square, London
4th June – at the London Produce Show, The Grosvenor, Park Lane, London

We had a total of 21 judges, all from different backgrounds: journalists, a South African honorary consul, South African fruit growers and importers, and a buyer from Waitrose, horticulture students, South African embassy staff, and many others. We even had TV star Aggie Mackenzie from ‘How Clean is Your House’ fame; she writes about food for Delicious Magazine and Good Housekeeping and has first-hand knowledge of South African schools having helped deliver books for us a couple of years ago.
